Frank Fisher is nothing. He wants to be something. When a mysterious muse named Bonnie offers assistance by injecting seeds of inspiration directly into his brain through a festering wound, the couple find themselves on a twisted path littered with addiction, self-loathing, vindictive mailmen, angry hamsters, surreal screenplays, and more. Through it all, they rely only on each other as they endlessly search for the ever-elusive somethingness.
Tyranny of the Muse features words by Eddie Wright and art by Jesse Balmer, based on Wright’s novella Broken Bulbs.
Jesse Balmer was born in San Juan Capistrano, California in 1987. He has been drawing since before he can remember, which was really only much-less-than-the-blink-of-an-eye ago on the geologic time scale. He now resides in San Francisco, California where his dignity remains intact for now.
